Are You Looking For The Best Surveillance
Equipment
For Your Home Or Office?
Do You Know What To Look For?
By Using A CCTV Security Camera
You Can Monitor Activity From Virtually Anywhere
Are you looking to buy quality surveillance equipment for
your home or business? If you are, you might be a bit confused by
the terminology used when describing this equipment.
For example, when looking for a security camera, you may notice
that many are described as being a "CCTV security camera".
Unless you are familiar with surveillance, you may be wondering what
a CCTV security camera is -- and why you should get one.
Simply put, a CCTV, or closed-circuit television, security camera
is a camera that is designed to transmit images to a certain location
and to a limited number of monitors. As such, a closed-circuit television
is different from a broadcast television because the signal is not
transmitted openly.
In other words, the signal being broadcast through your CCTV
security camera cannot be picked up by just anyone. This,
of course, means that the images you record with your CCTV security
camera are kept private.
CCTV cameras are regularly used as an integral component of the
surveillance equipment used at locales such as casinos, banks, military
installations, airports and convenience stores. They are also regularly
used in industrial plants, where they may be used to observe certain
aspects of a manufacturing process from a remote location. This can
be particularly beneficial when the environment where the process
is located is not safe for humans, but the process still must be
monitored closely.
As technology has continued to evolve, so has the technology used
in today’s CCTV security camera. Many of these cameras, for
example, now utilize Integrated Systems. These systems typically
include:
- A Digital Video Recorder (DVR)
- A Display Monitor
- A Built-In Network Card
The DVRs utilized in these Integrated Systems are capable of recording
up to 14 days worth of surveillance. Aside from the clarity of the
imaging, one of the benefits to using this surveillance equipment is
the fact that the images can be transferred from the camera to an
external hard drive or to a computer by connection through a USB
outlet. By doing so, the video can be placed onto a DVD and saved
if necessary.
The fact that Integrated Systems come with a built-in network card
also means the cameras can be connected to the Internet for monitoring
from a remote location. By doing so, you can watch live action captured
by your
CCTV security camera from virtually anywhere.
