How does it work? What goes
with what? What is needed?
Each standard wired type security camera require video and
power connection. Usually video connection for CCTV cameras
uses BNC connection. But you can also use the BNC/RCA connector
to turn the BNC connection to RCA connection and use RCA
cables instead. Plug video cable from camera to controllers
(switcher, quad, or multiplexer). Plug power adapter from
camera to wall outlet. Power usually use 12v DC source.
Setup A. gives you a basic understanding how surveillance
camera setup works. For those that uses just one security
camera type, a controller won't be necessary, you can straight
plug to vcr or monitor. The controller can plug up to 1-8
camera on a quad and switcher, and 1-16 cam on a multiplexer.
Diagram B. gives you more detail on how an actual setup
will be like. Sample of 4 security camera connection is use.
Of course depends on video equipment, some design differently,
but basically the same concept. This diagram shows four camera
setup to a quad(controller) and quad to cctv monitor and
cctv monitor to security vcr.
Using a surveillance equipment such as a quad or multiplexer
help gives you the technology to switch channels or view
all at once. Our quad or multiplexer are highly recommended.
High quality giving you real time display and with digital
zoom.
Is it necessary to purchase a security VCR or Monitor? Well
depends. For those that only record once in a full moon,
no it wont be neccessary to purchase a VCR or Monitor. For
those that record consistently and use surveillance daily,
then yes you will need a security type vcr and a security
monitor. Regular VCR and Monitor are not built for surveillance
watch, so don't ruin them by using them to do your surveillance.
The security vcr and monitor have built in technology that
will do the job for you. |
