How to get started with Surveillance?

Below are 5 Steps to begin surveillance.

Step 1. Decide how many video camera you need.
Standard video camera can cover a good 65-85° degree angle of any standard room. So if you have a big lot, you might need more than 2 security cameras to cover front lot. Average room takes up 2 security camera for full coverage. Average homes or standard office building takes up to 4 security cameras for front lot surveillance to be covered on all angle. So you can probably do a good guess. If your guess is wrong, its okay too. You can always add more surveillance camera.

Step 2. Decide what type of video cameras you need.
We have so many cctv cameras to choose from. It seem endless. We try our best to carry all types of cctv cameras because each customer has their own preferences. So ask youself few questions to narrow down what type of video cameras you need.

- Do you need day or night surveillance? If day then go with our bullet type camera. If both day & night vision surveillance then you must get our "Infrared cameras commonly known as (night vision camera) ". With infrared cameras you are able to see beautiful day videos and in complete darkness.

- For day time indoor/outdoor surveillance only (Residential customer) we recommend the following type of cameras. cctv bullet camera or Manual Zoom camera.

- For day & night vision surveillance (Residential customer) we recommend the following type of cameras. Infrared camera

For our business customers, type of cctv cameras are much easier solutions. Business customers can litterally use any type of cameras suitable for their locations or surroundings.

- For day time indoor/outdoor surveillance only (Business customer) we recommend the following type of cameras. cctv bullet camera or Manual Zoom camera or CCTV Pro Camera or Dome Camera or PTZ Camera

- For day & night vision surveillance (Business customer) we recommend the follwoing type of cameras. Infrared camera


Step 3. Decide what type of budget you have for your surveillance.
After passing step 1 & 2. Before continuing how to cable or where to install. Make sure you narrow down what type of camera you like or how many you can get. Is this in your budget? Go on our online-store at www.espysecurity.com and with step 1&2, figure out the prices along with quantity of security cameras your budget have for you. Also add in price of Digital Video Recorders.

Once you figure out your budget, or how many cameras you're able to put on, go to step 4.

Step 4. Decide the location to store your Recorder/Monitor & Security Cameras.
Once you figure out where you will place your recording device/monitoring. Measure or figure out the length between each camera to your recording/monitoring device. Take that length and times by each camera you are planning to purchase. (Camera distant to recording/montoring x Camera Qty) . This will help get you the basic estimate of cable you will need. Remember some length varies from each camera to recording/monitor. So always add additional cable to your estimate. It is better to go over what you need than to have less than what you need. This way you will avoid loss of time & complications during your installation. Give and take add few hundred extra feet to your total estimate cable you need.

Step 5. Installation
